3 Boxing Superstars Similar to WWE Superstars
Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

The WWE is one of the biggest trending promotions in sports and entertainment right now. With the resurgence of professional wrestling, stars like Cody Rhodes are becoming as popular as Canelo Alvarez. The Connecticut-based promotion has consequently locked down a mega-deal with Netflix for Monday Night Raw.

Life is good for the WWE and the WWE Universe. However, boxing is also growing in the news, with Ryan Garcia grabbing plenty of attention. Throw in a Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight and the sport is becoming headline-worthy. This is a good time to be into boxing, too.

With that, let’s engender the two and see which superstars are similar to each other. Some are based on their personalities, while others are based on how the superstar dominates the sport. So which boxing stars are similar to WWE’s most prized superstars?

Canelo Alvarez (60-2-2)

Canelo Alvarez dominates his sport like no other. The super middleweight legend is great at everything: powerful punches, great technique, and quickness to boot. It’s easy to see why Alvarez is such a big name in the sport.

Therefore, we must give Canelo Alvarez the best association possible. Why not associate the Mexican boxer with Roman Reigns? The “Tribal Chief” recently had his 1,316-day WWE title reign end. The reign happened to be the fourth-longest in WWE history. For Alvarez, being compared to Reigns is the highest honor a boxer could receive.

Ryan Garcia (25-1)

Ryan Garcia is no stranger to controversy. He’s constantly picking fights with people and organizations, making him a lightning rod. The 25-year-old is also one of the fastest-rising boxing stars today. Therefore, he needs someone who matches that controversial persona.

Why not Dominik Mysterio? The son of Rey Mysterio is a constant heat magnet, with crowds consistently booing him. Dominik Mysterio is also successful in his own right, winning the NXT North American Championship twice. The comparison is fitting with both superstars being polarizing figures in their respective sports.

Jake Paul (9-1)

C’mon, it’d be Logan Paul. They’re brothers, with the same personality built for YouTube and TikTok. They’ve also had success in their respective crafts, making them even more polarizing. While Logan Paul is better received in the WWE based on his personality befitting that of a heel, the Paul brothers are locked at the hip. However, the non-relative that would make sense for the Cleveland native is Kevin Owens. Both are scrappy and love to punish their opponents. Still, Owens isn’t as showboat and braggadocious as Paul is.
